BBAPT is the official representative spokes-body of Bed and Breakfast establishments, incorporating Guesthouses, and Self Catering in Pretoria / Tshwane and its environs on local matters. The mission of the Association is to act in the best business interest of its members, the accommodation industry in general, tourism, commerce and the Pretoria / Tshwane community at large.

The Association aims to promote the privately owned Bed and Breakfast and hospitality industry in Pretoria and set a high standard of excellence in the conduct of its members.

The BED AND BREAKFAST ASSOCIATION OF PRETORIA / TSHWANE represents the finest B&B, Guesthouses, Lodges, and Self Catering establishments. Bed and Breakfast and similar establishments are mostly private homes that reflect the lifestyle of the host family and with an ambience of its own. The guests may find themselves part of a family, although most establishments offer separate guest facilities. They may offer more facilities than those described above, which information is available on request or when making a reservation.

Self-catering fully equipped accommodation is included in the above. The individually owned accommodation establishments undertake to comply with the high standards as laid down by BBAPT and to keep their establishment according to these standards at all times. On compliance they are given a BBAPT Quality Approved Accommodation board (approved by the City Council of Pretoria / Tshwane) for the duration of them being a member of BBAPT.
